Abstract

Background :Suctioning is an act to maintain the airway so as to enable an adequate gas exchange process by removing secretions from clients who are unable to remove themselves, whereas the endotracheal tube is a device used to secure the upper airway. Objective:To determine the effect of endotracheal tube (ETT) mucus suctioning on oxygen saturation levels in patients treated in the ICU room of Salatiga City Hospital. Methods : The research method used is experimental research with pre-experimental design pre-post-test one-group pre-post design test without control. Sampling using consecutive sampling techniques. Obtained 15 respondents. data collection through observation sheets. Bivariate analysis with paired sample t-test. Results: Significance value of p value = 0,000 α = 0.05, then Ho was rejected Ha, the decision was accepted that there was an Effect of Endotracheal Tube Mucus Suction Acts on Oxygen Saturation Levels in Patients Treated in ICU Room at Salatiga City Hospital. Conclusion : There Are Effects of Endotracheal Tube (ETT) Mucus Suction on Oxygen Saturation Levels in Patients Treated in ICU Room of Salatiga City Hospital.
