PENERAPAN TERAPI KOMPRES HANGAT TERHADAP INTENSITAS NYERI PADA REMAJA PUTRI DENGAN DISMENORE
Abstract
Background: Dysmenorrhea is pain that lasts for one to several days during menstruation. According to WHO in Indonesia, the incidence of dysmenorrhea is 55% among productive age, of which 15% complain of limited activity due to dysmenorrhea. How to reduce dysmenorrhea can be done in two ways, namely pharmacological and non-pharmacological. Non-pharmacologically can be done by means of warm compresses. The use of warm compresses is expected to increase muscle relaxation and reduce pain due to spasm or stiffness and provide a local feeling of warmth. Purpose : This study aims to determine the application of warm compresses to pain intensity in adolescent girls with dysmenorrhea. Methods : The study used a descriptive method with a case approach to adolescent girls who experienced dysmenorrhea from August 5 to August 19, 2021. The subjects in this study were four young women who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instruments used were observation sheets, SOPs for Warm Compresses, and NRS pain scale measurements to assess pain intensity before and after applying warm compresses. The subjects in this case study were 4 young women aged 12-21 years who experienced dysmenorrhea on days 1-3 with a pain scale >5. Warm compresses are done for 20 minutes in 3 consecutive days. Result : There is a decrease in pain intensity in adolescent girls with dysmenorrhea before being given a warm compress and after being given a warm compress. Conclusion : This study proved the application of warm compresses to the intensity of pain in adolescent girls with dysmenorrhea.References
